Truck mounted crane or tractor mounted crane — which one to choose for your job?

This is the most common question for customers who are just starting to learn crane trucks: should you choose crane trucks or crane tractors?

Truck mounted crane — flexible, maneuverable

In accordance with needs of enterprises

  • Regular delivery within the inner city or nearby area.
  • The volume of goods is moderate, it is necessary to rotate quickly during the day.
  • Need easy to move vehicles into small alleys, narrow works.

Tractor mounted crane — large load, long distance

In accordance with needs of enterprises

  • Transporting large volumes of goods, long distances, inter-provincial.
  • Construction works and industrial parks need to load and unload heavy materials.
  • There is a large enough yard for the trailer to move and turn around.

# Additional considerations

  • Frequency of use: trucks are suitable for many short trips during the day; tractor trucks are more efficient with fewer trips but high volume per trip.
  • ** Operating costs:** two types of vehicles with different road tolls and registration fees according to the load — should calculate the long-term operating budget, not just the initial purchase price.
  • ** Dock infrastructure:** tractor trucks need significantly larger parking and turning space than trucks.

Not sure which to choose?

Each industry, each project has its own characteristics.
