Distinguish between inspection of lifting equipment (cranes) and registration of motor vehicles — do not confuse these two procedures
One of the most common mistakes of crane vehicle owners is to think that "the registration of the vehicle is complete". In fact, the crane truck has **two separate legal procedures **, which should be fully implemented both.
Inspection of lifting equipment (crane inspection)
Cranes mounted on vehicles are considered ** lifting equipment **, which is subject to separate safety inspection according to the regulations on equipment with strict requirements on occupational safety. After satisfactory inspection, the equipment is issued ** inspection stamps and safety certificates **. This procedure needs to be done before when the vehicle is registered for circulation.
# Motor vehicle registration
This is the procedure of checking the vehicle (body, braking system, steering, exhaust...) to be allowed to circulate on the road, applicable to all motor vehicles. For newly manufactured or newly assembled vehicles, the vehicle is often **exempt from the first registration ** — this is an easy thing for the car owner to misunderstand as "the new car does not need to do anything more". In fact, the exemption from the first registration only applies to the motor vehicle part, does not replace for the inspection of lifting equipment of the crane.
Why it's important to distinguish
Missing one of the two documents can cause the vehicle to be disposed of when inspected, or face risks of insurance, liability when there is a problem during crane operation.
