5 things to check before buying a Palfinger crane

Crane vehicles have been operating assets for many years, so before deciding to buy, customers should carefully check the following factors — not just look at the selling price.

1. Clear Origin

Ask where the chassis is assembled, where the crane is from. Origin information should be clearly stated in the contract and registration documents, not just oral advice.

2. Certificate of Conformity / Type Approval (TA)

This is the most important legal document, confirming the configuration of the vehicle — crane has been inspected and allowed to circulate by the competent authority. VIPEC always reconciles the contract data, quotes with the correct TA paper of each configuration before handing over, to ensure that the received parameters are in accordance with the registered parameters.

# 3. Written Warranty Policy

Warranty policy requirements are clearly stated in the contract: term, conditions, what is and is not warranted. With Palfinger cranes, the warranty period is 12 months or 1,000 operating hours, whichever comes first.

# 4. After-sales service and genuine parts

Crane-mounted vehicles need periodic maintenance throughout the service life. Ask if the place of sale provides genuine parts and after-sales technical service, as this is a factor that directly affects the downtime when the machine needs to be repaired.

5. Documentation of inspection of lifting equipment on delivery of the vehicle

Cranes are lifting equipment that must be safely inspected (with stamps and certificates) before being put into operation — this is a different procedure from the normal motor vehicle registration. Request the seller to hand over this document in full with the vehicle.

If you are considering investing in a Palfinger crane truck, contact VIPEC for full legal documentation and transparent advice before making a decision.
